Add URL Shortify Plugin to wiscweb plugins

The URL Shortify Wordpress plugin allows us to create shortened links that have the base URL of our specific website. This allows for sharing of shortened links that still allow people to learn, know, and understand the website they will be going to.

I recognize that the go.wisc.edu URL shortener exists, but because that doesn't allow us to keep the base URL of our website, it doesn't work super well for promoting a new page on OUR specific website that we want to share across campus. It limits the recognizability of where the user will land when using that URL.

Examples

  • careers.wisc.edu/safety-course VS. go.wisc.edu/safety-course (without context for the go.wisc.edu URL you would not know that this course has something to do with careers on campus)

Priority

How would you categorize this feature in terms of priority? Please select only one.

  • High This feature is crucial for the website's core functions or to fix important issues. It's essential for a smooth user experience, and I believe it should be addressed urgently.

  • Medium: Absence of this feature has a moderate level of impact on my website. They may not be crucial for its basic functioning, but should be considered after higher priority tasks.

  • Low: These features would be great to have on the website, but I understand they aren't necessary for its main purpose. If there's time and resources, they could add extra convenience or enjoyment to the user experience.
