Featured Content Block Functionality on Mobile
Description
Featured content blocks appear on mobile in "column" order as I understand it. The first block on the left will appear first in mobile. Then the top middle. Then the top right. After that, the next row of content blocks will appear in the same manner. Is there a way to ensure that featured content blocks could appear chronologically (perhaps by adding a date field that could be registered/recognized by WiscWeb)? We use featured content blocks on our landing pages for our two principle programs to achieve the visual layout we desire. We set up the blocks for each event in chronological order, such that the first featured content block (event 1) appears in Row 1, Column 1, the second featured content block (event 1) appears in Row 1, Column 2, the third featured content block (event 3) appears in Row 1, Column 3, the fourth featured content block (event 4) appears in Row 2, Column 1, and so on. When "read" on mobile, these featured content blocks appear "jumbled" - that is, out of date order - because featured content blocks currently render in column order.

Unfortunately, I cannot share links to the mobile experience here, but I can share from the two principle landing pages I mentioned above. Visiting Scholars Program: https://havenswrightcenter.wisc.edu/spring_2024_events/ Social Cinema: https://havenswrightcenter.wisc.edu/social_cinema_2024/
If you open these on your mobile device, I believe you will quickly see what I mean above.
Priority
How would you categorize this feature in terms of priority? Please select only one.
-
High This feature is crucial for the website's core functions or to fix important issues. It's essential for a smooth user experience, and I believe it should be addressed urgently. -
Medium: Absence of this feature has a moderate level of impact on my website. They may not be crucial for its basic functioning, but should be considered after higher priority tasks. -
Low: These features would be great to have on the website, but I understand they aren't necessary for its main purpose. If there's time and resources, they could add extra convenience or enjoyment to the user experience.
