      Consider publishing our documentation to a Gitlab Pages site instead of having people only use the file browser within Gitlab.

      If Gitlab Pages is not an option, perhaps a different static site generator could be used.

      Thank you for reaching out regarding GitLab Pages. The feature is available with the Ultimate tier license and is currently being tested.

      I will add you to the list of groups interested in utilizing this feature. Deborah Chasman from SMPH previously asked about this feature.

      May I keep this issue open and provide you with periodic updates?

      The Shared Tools team is working with the Web Hosting team to confirm a process for supporting groups who want to host static websites using GitLab. We are also clarifying that licensing cost and terms & conditions regarding SMPH’s usage of GitLab.

      In the mean-time, the Web Hosting team does have a few Static Hosting Options available: https://kb.wisc.edu/webhosting/109899. Any questions regarding these existing services can be directed to webhosting@doit.wisc.edu.
